He is a graduate in Economics and has been awarded Diplomas in Trading and Risk Management from Oxford and Cambridge Universities. He began his career with the Government of Gujarat and later served as an Administrator of Contracts in Dubai with a leading US firm. He has worked as a Trading Manager in both Singapore and Dubai. Currently, he holds the position of Group Vice President (Trading) at Tropicana Group, located in the Dubai Free Zone Area. Additionally, he serves as the Managing Director of Tropicana Logistics (P) Ltd and Tropicana House Boats & Hospitality (P) Ltd, both based in Kochi. Moreover, he acts as the Managing Trustee of Shobha Memorial Charitable Trust in Vellanchery, Kuttippuram, Malappuram District.

He has put in more than 30 years of experience in marketing Ayurvedic products and service industry. He is very active in several social activities and former Chairman, Organic Kerala Charitable Trust. Under his leadership several humanitarian and charitable activities are being conducted regularly. He is the president of Koonammoochi Peoples Service Co-operative Bank. Jayakrishnan Nambi is the eldest son of Late Shri Ashtavaidyan Alathiyoor Narayanan Nambi. Alathiyoor mana is one of the legendary families of Astavaidyas.
